I am an Image Consultant and Costume Designer specializing in storytelling for film and television.
My career in the motion picture industry began uniquely and organically a few years ago. After a successful career as a publicist (for CNN, FOX Sports and The Weather Channel), I took on a supervising stylist role at Bloomingdale’s Studio Services Lenox – helping costumers and stylists select the perfect wardrobes and props for feature films, sitcoms and soap operas.
As I transitioned into design, I began to work alongside Costume Designer Provi Fulp (Girls Trip, Love Is, Being Mary Jane). I assisted her with celebrity clients K. Michelle, Rickey Smiley and corporate retail clients like The Athlete’s Foot. Those experiences led me to work in costumes on the set of Office Christmas Party with Jennifer Anniston and Kate McKinnon (SNL). Combining that invaluable training with my own styling experiences, I mastered the art of integrating high-end fashion with accessible everyday style to create looks that tell the unique stories of each character.
Since making the big leap into designing costumes, I’ve worked on many projects including Star (FOX), The Bobby Brown Story (BET), Come Sunday (Netflix), Macgyver (CBS) and Rhythm & Flow (Netflix).
There are stories everywhere in fashion and film. From the colors to the fabrics apparel is made from. Costumes & Coffee serves as a creative space to cut through the clutter of styled photos and share an intelligent take on stories in art, culture, design, fashion, media and music.
Miuccia Prada said it best:
“What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language.”
